Via JR Yamanote, Shonan Shinjuku, or Saikyo Line, get off the train at Ebisu Station and exit the station via the East Exit. Ebisu Station is about 22 minutes from Tokyo Station and about 12 minutes from Shinjuku Station. Detailed walking directions from the East and West Exits of JR Ebisu Station are provided immediately below.

To reach the EAST EXIT, GO UP ONE LEVEL from any of the JR Lines' platforms at Ebisu Station.  (If you go down one level, you will reach the West Exit.) Ticket-taking machines at the East Exit of JR Yamanote Line's Ebisu Station are on the 3rd level of the building in which the Ebisu branch of the ATRE department store is located. After passing through ticket-taking machine #1 (this is the machine closest to the station agent's window), walk straight ahead about 10 meters. After passing on your left two short escalators that travel between the 3rd and 4th levels of the ATRE building, you will see on your left two long escalators that travel between the 3rd and 2nd levels of the ATRE building. You will also see several flights of stairs parallel to these long escalators.

Descend to the 2nd level via the long down-escalator or the flights of stairs parallel to the escalators.
(At the bottom of the long down-escalator, you will see immediately in front of you the outdoor seating area of a small STARBUCKS COFFEE shop.) From the bottom of the down-escalator or the foot of the flights of stairs, walk about 5 meters to your right to the top of a flight of stairs covered by a plastic canopy. Descend this first flight of stairs to a landing, then descend to the 1st or ground level via a second flight of stairs perpendicular to the first.

At the foot of the second flight of stairs, you will see to your left front a SUNKUS 24-hour convenience store and to your right front a PRONTO coffee shop. Walk down the street between the SUNKUS store and the PRONTO shop to the corner, then turn right and walk about 5 meters. Good Day Books occupies the 3rd floor of the Asahi Building, a grey building whose 1st or ground floor is occupied by The FooTNiK, a football pub.

To reach the WEST EXIT, GO DOWN ONE LEVEL from the JR Lines' platform at Ebisu Station. (If you go up one level, you will reach the East Exit.) The ticket-taking machines at the West Exit of JR Yamanote Line's Ebisu Station are on the 1st or ground level of the building in which the Ebisu branch of the ATRE department store is located. After passing through ticket-taking machine #1 (this is the machine closest to the station agent's window), you will see an entance to the ATRE department store about 15 meters in front of you and a bit to your left. Immediately to the left of this entrance is a ramp to the ground level. As you ascend the ramp to ground level, you will see Exit 1 of Ebisu Station on the Hibiya Line subway. Follow the directions for walking from Exit 1 of the Hibiya Line's Ebisu Station, which are given immediately below.

Via Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line subway, get off the train at Ebisu (Ebisu is the station between Hiroo and Nakameguro) and leave the station via Exit 1. Detailed walking directions from Exit 1 of Hibiya Line Ebisu Station are provided immediately below.

As you ascend to ground level via Exit 1 of the Hibiya Line's Ebisu Station, make a U-turn to your left. In front of you to your right, you will see a "koban" or police box. (If you'd prefer not to read much further, you should stop at the police box and ask for our business card, which has on its reverse side a map showing the location of our shop.) The 4-lane road immediately in front of you is Komazawa Dori. Walk downhill along Komazawa Dori, passing underneath the tracks of the JR lines, to the first traffic light, which is at the intersection of Komazawa Dori and Ebisu Dori. You'll see a Lavanderie Sandwich Shop at the corner to your right.

Turn right at Lavanderie, and walk along Ebisu Dori to the third traffic signal (you will have walked past an NTT DoCoMo shop, a UFJ Bank and a Subway Sandwich Shop on your right). At the third traffic signal, walk another 5 meters in the direction that you had been walking. Good Day Books occupies the 3rd floor of the Asahi Building, a grey building whose 1st or ground floor is occupied by The FooTNiK, a football pub.
